BATTLEFIELDS
The area is rich in battlefields from the Anglo-Boer War (1899 , 1902). A visit to Magersfontein 30km from Kimberley is well worth a visit with a wonderful relief map showing the positions of the two sides, and trenches still visible from the top of the kopje. An interesting little museum filled with fascinating memorabilia from the Battle of Magersfontein. Several other battle sites to visit in the area. Tours can be arranged.

A photographic display unrivalled in South Africa depicting the indigenous peoples of South Africa through the 20th Century.

THE KIMBERLEY CLUB
Founded in 1881 by Cecil John Rhodes, the Club has a wonderful air of elegance and refinement. An a la carte restaurant available for visitors in an atmosphere synonomous with the diamond barons of yesteryear.

A visit to this San community on the outskirts of Kimberley takes you on a stroll around the kopje viewing the bushman art with the aid of earphones. Fun for the children and interesting things to see.

AVIATION MUSEUM
Close to the airport, this small museum offers a fascinating history of aviation in S.A. As the SAAF pilots from WW2 were all trained in Kimberley, there is a lot to see here. Open weekdays and by appointment, over weeekends. Also visit the CLYDE N.

TERYY HALL OF MILITARIA at the MOTH Club.
